Week 5: Snowy Owl

Due to the snow this week and dreams of owls lately, here's a snowy owl in a somewhat snow-like skyish background.  Not the best painting, but I'm experimenting with blotting the paint instead of smoothing it out.

Week Four: Lady Cardinal

My painting for week 4 of my Innate Image challenge:  A female cardinal surrounded by Rowan branches.  One unfortunately hit our window earlier in the week, and I felt like paying tribute to her.

Week 2 for Innate Image

So this week was insanely warm and rainy for January...so I felt like painting a rainy-themed image with a rain spirit.

My new project: Innate Image. Week 1

For my New Year resolution of 2013, I've decided to start painting each week...painting anything I want, whether it be just puddles of color or a lighthearted painting, or something dark, or perhaps even detailed landscapes or portraits...characters, etc.

I've decided that for fun and for intrigue to use code names...unless the specific artist chooses not to.  I'm Red Wing...10 points to whoever knows why.

Jan. 05, 2013 is my fist painting.  It is a watercolor and salt derivative.  As you see, it is my beloved dog Sunny, who recently passed away.  I had a dream of her earlier in the week of her visiting me, so that is what I thought of to paint.
